Our Horses

Dixieland April

April is our Belgian mare. At 17.2 hh, she’s the Big Girl with a big heart. At her former home, April was extensively shown in halter, but now we’ve trained her into an excellent trail riding horse. She is very light on her feet, and in 2009 she paraded under saddle at the Iowa Horse Fair and represented the Belgian breed in the Avenue of Breeds!

Sudden Creek Tyrone

We have raised Tyrone from a two year old. He’s a 2002 registered shire, and has now reached 17.1hh at age 6. He likes to spend his days eating, mixed in with a bit of sleeping…He’s also turning into a safe and sound riding horse, not to mention being one of the most handsome grey shires out there! He was on show in the Breed Parade at the 2008 Iowa Horse Fair. Very sadly, Tyrone was recently diagnosed with a genetic, juvenile osteoarthritis condition in his fetlocks. Over time, he will go lame and there's no cure, but so far he's doing great and will continue to live the life of Riley he so enjoys!

Sheeza Uneek Dolly (Kody)

Kody is our only light horse. Even so, she’s a big tobiano paint mare at 15.3hh and is APHA registered. Kody is a pleasure to be around - calm, well-trained and a great lesson and trail horse. Kody's 2007 filly, Ella, can be seen on our For Sale page.

Yogie the Wonder Horse

yogie 1 yogie 2

Yogie is a 2007 grey and white spotted draft gelding. He was rescued by the wonderful Lazy Horse Ranch in SD, which sadly closed its doors in late 2008.  Yogie has a forever home with us, and all going well, might get himself a trail riding career once he's old enough! He's another gentle soul but gets a bit bossed around by all the Imperial ladies!!
